Gov Nixon Signs Executive Order Protecting Sexual Orientation

On Sunday, July 11th, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon signed Executive Order 10-24, adding employment protections based on sexual orientation to the Executive Branch of Missouri state government, and presented it at the National Conference of the NAACP in Kansas City.

Freedom to Marry Week 2010 - Feb 8-14th

Joplin Gay Lesbian Center encourages its friends and supporters to highlight marriage equality on Valentine's Day, Sunday, February 14th, during Freedom To Marry Week, February 8-14th. The Center encourages people to be out and open and to take a date or partner to a public event and to make it known that gay and lesbian couples are denied marriage equality in Missouri.

The Center also encourages its religious members to request or say a public or private prayer for or to think about the goal of marriage equality and how the denial of marriage equality affects other Missourians of faith.
